Be a Friend Today

I had the privilege of spending this past weekend at the beach with 68 other women. Why? Because we all yearned to be refreshed by the Holy Spirit and we desired to strengthen our friendships and make some new ones. You may have guessed it, we were on a Ladies Seaside Retreat. God spoke to me in many ways as I prepared to lead the lessons on God is Greater Than…

In addition to this topic, I also learned a new thing about friendship. It is valuable and needs to be a priority in my life. Friends are a precious gift from God. Proverbs 17:17a tells us, “A friend loves at all times.”

If you have a friend who will share time in prayer over the phone…you are blessed.

If you have a friend that brings you dinner for no special reason…you are blessed.

If you have a friend who wants to go deeper in her relationship with the Lord along side you…you are blessed.

If you have a friend who loves sinners inspite of their sin…you are blessed.

If you have a friend who will remember a small detail of your life and call you to check on it…you are blessed.

All of these were ways that I have been blessed by friends recently. So my new challenge is this how will I be a friend to someone today. How about you? If you have some good ideas please share them with us. Let’s be creative and let’s show some love to our friends.
