Stay in the Game

This past Saturday, my team lost BIG! I mean big…42 to 14. But, you know what I’m still a huge fan. No matter how bad my Auburn Tigers might do in a game I will always remember, with fondness, the fall of my Senior Year at Auburn when they had the perfect season 11-0. Yes, 1993 was bittersweet as we were on probation and could not be watched on television or play in a bowl game. My mind is replaying my own college days right now. They were not all filled with all wins for me, there were a few monumental losses as well, but after my Bible Study today I couldn’t help but think God was for me all the way.

You see I was reading Job chapter one and answering a few of the questions from Beth Moore’s book When Godly People Do Ungodly Things. I realized that my husband and kids may think I’m great, but God is my #1 fan. All through this life when I have hit hard situations, temptations, trials, and errors God has been there rooting for me. As Beth said, “Yes, the battle is rough and sometimes seems unbearable, but God is always for us.” Maybe today the fight you are in seems more than you can handle, maybe it started as a game and now you are just knee-deep in something of your own choosing and you are looking for a way out, maybe you have been handed horrible and devastating circumstances, whatever it is know that the Lord God loves you and is on your side. He wants you to win this one for His glory! Hang in there dear one. Fight hard to the end. The Lord wants you to have victory in this battle, just remember He has already overcome death on our behalf.

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – Jesus

I Corinthians 15:57-58 “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” – the Apostle Paul
