The other day I was dealt a blow that quite frankly caused a great sense of loss and disappointment. Can you relate? The decision was for the best, but I couldn’t help be a little bit sad over the fact that I was going to have to stop doing something I love. The next day still moping I asked God to help me deal with it. The phone rang only to bring more bad news, a couple stopped by to present frightning questions, and I was praying to be released from my downward spiral of discouragment. Another day ended and a new one began.
The morning rose with kids going to school and a quiet house then I went in to the eye doctor, I was greated by the friendliest woman. She began of course by commenting on how beautiful Rachel was and asking all about her which led her to say that babies were a blessing from God. Instant bonding! She was a sister, a believer who spoke encouragment over me as she quoted psalms about our help coming from the Lord. Lessons were learned that day.
1. Encouragment comes from God’s Word and God’s people.
2. I should speak encouraging words and scripture whenever I can.
3. I need to memorize more scripture. 🙂
How about you? Have you any encouragement to pass on today?
