Each believer has been given a spiritual gift. Simply put if you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you have a special ability given to you by the Holy Spirit that is to be used to minister to others, specifically those who belong to the body of believers. That means you have a purpose to be fulfilled in the local church. If you are a believer without a church home then you are not fulfilling God’s purpose for your life.

You will notice as you read through these three chapters that a body of believers is made up of members with different gifts. These gifts are not to be fought over. No one is more or less special because of their specific gifts. Each one is needed. Knowing your area of giftedness will help you know where you need to serve. It can also help you know your purpose in life.
