I have decided to have fewer goals for 2015. Normally my list is long and I have different categories even for my yearly goals. In the past there has been a Spiritual, Health, Family and Other headings for my goals. After last year though I’ve come to the conclusion that while the world might think I thrive on deadlines and busyness the truth is I don’t. I need time to think, explore and just be still. It is essential to being who God created me to be. I need my daily date with God and His Word.
So goal #1 is to meet with God daily. I’m not talking a check list perfunctory meeting or a quick hail Mary type time either. I’m talking about a conversation between friends quality meeting time. A time each day devoted to listening and submitting to Him and His will.
All other goals will fall from and be developed during this time. Psalm 143:10 will be my theme this year. “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.”
So goal #2 is to write something each day. Whether it is a journal entry, blog entry or working on an article or book proposal; writing each day is what he is asking of me.
I am so thankful to have a new year to explore and discover what God’s will is for me. What about you? What does God want for you in 2015?
Well said Emily! I have made the same goal as well! I think all other goals will fall into place without even realizing it if the relationship with God becomes what it needs to become.
You are exactly right! I hope you have a great week!
I love your goals!! I might need to adopt Goal #1 as mine, too. 🙂
Hey Lori, Thanks for your encouragement this morning. God is good to give me you as a friend. I’m praying for New Life.
I keep hearing God saying the same thing – – get back to the place of rest and peace with me. Turn away from the chaos and the lists. Way to go, Emily!!
Thanks. Rest and peace can be difficult to find. But refixing my gaze on Jesus sure does help. Thanks!
