Cancer is bad news but, in the midst of it there is often good news to hear. All four scans have come back clear. Cancer seems to be contained. Doctor’s have a battle plan and the oncologist said “we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t think it would work.” So, chemo began today. We will do 12 weeks of chemo using two different drugs. One will be administered weekly and the other every three weeks. Following chemo we’ll do radiation. If all goes well then we plan to do extensive surgery that will include skin grafting. It is a long road but, the Lord is already at work.
The patient next to me seemed to be a believer and has already laid some ground work for sharing the love of Christ with the nurse. Today was that patient’s last chemo session. Today was my first. Pray that the Lord will use our efforts to encourage the nurse and lead her to a relationship with him. Open your eyes and take notice of the fields. They are white for harvest. Who is in the field nearest you? Who can you share the good news of Christ with today? What’s stopping you?
