His Plans Are Good

I sang the song “God is so good” all through my childhood years, but believing the truth that God is good didn’t come easily for me. It took until I was 32 before I realized that not only was God good, but He was the giver of all good things, just like Scripture says. If believing that God knows the plans He has for you is Step One, then Step One B is to believe that they are good plans. God only wants His best for His people.

If that is a hard truth to grasp for you know that you are not alone. Remember Jeremiah is writing to exiles, people who have escaped death by living in a foreign land not of their own choosing. A land where not only is the food different, but everything about the culture is unfamiliar. There is a different religion, language, and a whole new set of customs. If anyone is going to wonder about God’s plan it is this group. Jeremiah is telling the Exiles to settle in for a long stay. Probably not the message they wanted to here. Yet He says that God has a good plan for them. It could not have been an easy word to accept.

Dear One, whatever you are going through right now remember that God has a plan and it is one for your good. Hang in there and seek God. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you as you study the Words found in Scripture. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. I pray that you know that the Lord is good and His love endures forever.
